Summary

Are you passionate about running? Would you love to get more of your friends or work colleagues running? Perhaps you already take a running group for a club and want to help them improve or make your training more enjoyable and purposeful.

If so, why not become a Leader in Running Fitness and then set up a beginners running group (18+) or support the growth of new or existing groups in your local area. If you live in North Yorkshire you can gain this qualification at a subsidised rate if you commit to the following:

* Set up and register on the Run England website a new beginners running group for adults (18+) or support the growth of an existing group for a minimum of 10 weeks and send monitoring information to North Yorkshire Sport

How do I become a leader?

All our leaders are supported through the North Yorkshire Athletics Network and North Yorkshire Sport, which means they are supported with training, paperwork, ongoing advice and publicity. They are also qualified and fully insured through the Leadership in Running Fitness course. Therefore in order to become a leader you will need to attend this one day course which is designed to help people who want to lead a running group.
