Summary

Are you interested in using technology in your coaching? Would you like to use technology which allows you to give instant feedback to your athletes instead of having to go away and download videos and then analyse it at home.  Do you want to have the ability to record athletes and compare them to another athlete within 60 seconds?  Do you want 1 central piece of kit which allows you to keep a log of your athletes improvements?  Would you like to use technology which is always developing?  If so, the ‘Using iTechnology in Coaching’ workshop may be for you.

Description

The workshop will look at how modern technology, primarily iPads and iPhones, can be used to help coaches analyse the performance of a team/individuals in a non time-consuming manner.  During the workshop you will be educated on the different applications out there.  You will look at a whole host of applications which have a variety of uses from breaking down skills and techniques to aid development, to collating data within a match/session. You will have the chance to look at approximately 8-10 different applications/programs.  You will then be able to discuss the various uses for them and have a go at testing each application to analyse performance of an individual/team.

You will see how easy it is to analyse performance of individuals and teams whether it be in a gym, on the sports field, on the range or at the swimming pool.

Coaches do not need to have an iPad or iPhone to be able to attend as there will be some available for use during the event, but those who do own one or both are encouraged to bring them along.  Coaches can also bring along any specific equipment that they use in their sport that they can use during the workshop. Delegates will also be given a pack detailing all of the information discussed during the session to take away with them.

Testimonials from previous ‘Using iTechnology in Coaching’ workshops

Table Tennis Coach – ‘Tennis Coach HD is the app that stood out the most for me as this had a number of similar functions that I use with Dartfish, but was 100 times easier to learn and use.’

Hockey Coach – ‘I thought the session was excellently ran and covered all the points to use the apps successfully in our coaching practice. I appreciated the learn by using method, as this allowed me to get to grips with all the apps instead of having to write a series of notes and then work out what they mean at a later date. Any queries which people had were answered and no one felt like they couldn’t ask a question if they needed to.’

Head Coach -  Angling Trust – ‘Very useful and the interactive hands on format helped me to understand the simplicity of using the apps;’

Swimming coach – ‘I found the workshop extremely useful and used both the burst app and coaches eye apps last night in the club environment. As someone who has been using dart fish for years and similar for the mac being able to use instant feedback on the iPad was great. ‘

Fly Fishing Coach –‘ Last night was really good and I’m really going to be pushing this with my boss, as I mentioned last night we are working on our England Talent Pathway and I think performance analysis could be used to great effect with our juniors when looking at the technical elements on fly fishing.’
