NOTHING!!
No. To gain access to CoachingNYSport a user must have an account; no personal information can be accessed on CoachingNYSport without an individual login created by a system administrator. Our system is part of the national CoachWeb system, but your details are only available to partners in North Yorkshire. There is no single file or document that can be downloaded, stored on a memory stick or emailed to third parties.
Any partner organisations that you link-up or "Affiliates" may access your details. So if, for example, you currently coach in Richmondshire and are linked with the Ricmondshire afiliate but wanted to recieve information from the Harrogate Borough Council, you could request that they would be able to see your details. However, it is you the coach that chooses which 'affiliate' has access to your details. To manage which organisations have access to your details you may login and navigate to the "Tailor Our Service" on your homepage.
There is only one CoachWeb system and so North Yorkshire Sport has joined a network of organisations in sport that are using a centralised coach database. The idea is to remove the need to complete application form after application form, rather you may simply select with which organisation you wish to share your profile. The questions asked vary depending on which application form you are completing.
In terms of the amount of details requested, you can choose how much to complete. A coach seeking employment opprtunities would need to complete full details to allow us to ensure coaches meet minimum standards and match them to the coaching opportunities available.
For coaches not looking for coaching opportunities, the additional details (training, experience, training needs, etc) is used to help us build up a better picture of coaching provision and the coaching workforce within the county. It will also help us tailor the support we can offer by knowing what coaches need in terms of CPD. These will be used collectively for research and planning our support, and to ensure coaches get to hear about development opportunities that are relevant to them. Again it is the coach that chooses whether or not they receive updates on training, coaching opportunities etc from us by selecting the relevant options on the 'Tailor our Service' page.
The CoachWeb servers are in the UK mainland hosted by a company called Rackspace (www.rackspace.co.uk). CoachWeb is run by an organisation called Byng Systems (www.byng-systems.com) who own the software code and run maintenance on the server.
The CoachWeb servers run enterprise Cisco firewalls to prevent unauthorised access to the systems and database. Furthermore externals tests are run against the system to validate the security of the systems. For more details queries please direct your queries to [email protected].
